Sullivan County, Missouri
is a wonderful destination point for many exciting points of interest. As
well as having many fun and exciting things to do right here it is also
centrally located to many of North Central Missouri's natural and man-made
attractions. This is a partial list of some of the wonderful
"Day Trips" that are available from Sullivan County.
- Historic Downtown Milan
Located nearly in the center of the county is Milan. A rich history, many historic buildings, library, genealogy library, museum, and one of the oldest businesses in the county are all located right in the heart of Milan.
- Photographers Paradise
Sullivan County, Missouri is fortunate to have many spectacular, scenic locations, lots of wildlife, Conservation Land, Historical sites, and unbelievable fall colors. You need not travel any further than a trip into the country to take as many photographs as you like.
- Fishing
With many area ponds and lakes, some of which are stocked, Sullivan County is a great place for fishing. From Elmwood Lake, to local creeks.
- Novinger, Miner's days
Located about 20 miles East of Milan you will find Novinger. Novinger has one of the nicest restored Log Cabins in the area.
- General John Pershing's Boyhood Home,
This State Historical Site is located about 32 miles South of Milan you will find Laclede. Boyhood home of General John Pershing. Tours are available.
- Walt Disney's Boyhood Home
Located about 45 miles South East of Milan you will find Marceline. Home of the Disney Family. A wonderful museum, and park are available there.

Located about 35 miles South and West of Milan you will find Pershing State Park.
- Jamesport, Amish Community
Located about 60 miles West of Milan you will find Jamesport. Home of a large colony of Amish Crafters. You will also find a number of quaint little Antique Shops.
- Kansas City Zoo
Roughly 2 1/2 hours from Sullivan County, this would be a great place to visit with the kids, then come back to the relaxing, quiet atmosphere of Sullivan County for a great nights rest.
- Missouri Town
Located just East of Kansas City, Missouri Town is a trip back in time, to a rural community from the 1820's to 1860's. Blacksmith, Mercantile, Church and more.
